MUST-SEE: This Contemporary Cebu Home is Airy and Cozy
Located in the Queen City of the South, this renovated Cebu Home is an airy and breezy getaway. Designed by Architect Runddy Ranillo and Manila-based interior designer Nina Santamaria, this ultimate family getaway is located on a mountain slope and has a great view of the Mactan channel.
Originally owned by the couple’s in-laws, the renovated Cebu home went through a two year construction period. No inch was wasted, and the house was made more airy and spacious to peacefully coexist with its mountain-side exterior.
“The owners wanted the common areas to flow into the kitchen, but for clutter to still be hidden from guests , sliding glass doors had to be installed,” shares interior designer Nina Santamaria. “The frosted design is meant to provide privacy with separating the space visually. It was also an opportunity for us to incorporate some curves and circles to the very angular design,” the itnerior designer adds.
Found in the heart of the home, this open space is designed to bring the family together. The windows, walls, and ceiling are high and wide so the interior designer recommended a solid and heavy wall. This Cebu home has a soild onyx door.
The kitchen is kept spacious to let the owners entertain while cooking. The long wooden bar table is a contrast to the rest of the modern style of the space.
The design revolves around maximizing natural air and daylight, as well as a view of the Mactan Channel that separates the house from the busy metropolis of Cebu City.
